All of these characters will also be dressed in their own special pirate-themed outfits. Guests of all ages are encouraged to bring their best pirate attire and costumes. We noticed that the level of dressing up varied greatly amongst the passengers. Some guests had gone all out and were dressed from head to toe in pirate gear, while other passengers wore very little themed pirate clothing. After dinner, dancing and games begin on the pool deck with Mickey and other Disney characters, until a band of pirate thieves -- costumed actors, of course -- try to take command of the ship. The Pirates in the Caribbean Party follows basically the same formula on all the ships, with the exception of the Wish. There are usually two shows, with the second show being followed by the fireworks. It varies slightly on each ship, but the main things offered are the same. Let’s just say that someone very special just may show up to save the night. Admittedly, we weren't expecting much participation among passengers when we attended Pirate Night on Disney Dream; fortunately, we were wrong. We donned a pirate hat and hook with some shredded clothing and striped tights -- and we fit right in.
Costume Comfort
One of the best places to view both the show and the fireworks is Deck 12 Port Side. The show is on Deck 11 which means that you will be above it looking down. The Dream and Fantasy fireworks are also fired from the Starboard side of the ship. Deck 4 is a good alternative place to view but if it is your first Pirate Night you will probably want to be in a different place. Another place to be if you do not want to follow the crowd is Deck 4 Starboard.

The show is fun, but I don’t think it is as good as Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean. If you ask people what activities they enjoyed on a Disney Cruise in the Caribbean, Pirate Night always seems to top the list. At first I wasn’t sure about the Pirate Night hype, but now it is one of my favorite on board activities.
This show also ends with a fireworks spectacular over the ship underscored by an original arrangement of the soundtrack from the Pirates of the Caribbean films. During our Pirate Night, there were high winds and our show still took place which surprised me! I think it takes some serious weather to cancel these events which is great news for fans. The Pirates Night show ends with fireworks above the Disney Cruise line ship. Keep in mind that fireworks are weather permitting and could be postponed or cancelled if there are high winds. For me the highlight of Buccaneer Blast is the fireworks.
Relatively few people will be watching from here as you can’t see the show at all. The disadvantage is that you can’t then be on the pool deck for the Party. But I think that the benefits outweigh this, particularly if you are not experiencing this for the first time.
If you aren’t exhausted stay for a pirate dance party on the pool deck. It is surely a night that will create fun memories for your entire family.
